  • Develop decision-making plans and work closely with families, service providers, and other professionals.
  • Ensure all decisions comply with relevant legislation, policies, and the Guardianship Act 1987 (NSW).
  • Respond to public and professional enquiries, providing clear information and guidance.
  • Monitor ongoing cases and identify opportunities for early discharge where appropriate.
  • Prepare detailed reports for the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) and attend hearings when required.
  • Build strong relationships with local services, understanding the unique needs of each community you serve.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work compassionately with clients and families.
  • Strong decision-making abilities with a calm and considered approach, even in complex situations.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation, including the Guardianship Act, or a willingness to learn.
  • Confidence to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a supportive team.

Requirements

  • Current Working With Children Check
  • National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Two recent professional referees (direct supervisors/managers)

Why Join This Opportunity?

  • Highly rewarding role where you make a direct impact on people’s lives.
  • Flexible working options – including two days per week from home once you’re up and running.Competitive hourly rate and support from both ACM and the organisation.
  • Work across diverse communities, gaining valuable regional and metro experience.
