Senior Social Worker – Hospital – Latrobe TAS

• 30.4 hours per fortnight permanent part time salaried position
• Hospital setting
• $106,000 to $123,000 pro rata

ACM Healthcare is working on behalf of a Government Health Service in Tasmania recruiting for a dedicated part time Senior Social Worker to join their team at the Mersey Community Hospital. 

RESPONSIBILITIES COULD INCLUDE:

• Support the development, delivery, and assessment of social work services for department consumers, their families, and the broader community, ensuring alignment with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) Code of Ethics and the Tasmanian Health Service Code of Conduct.
• Provide mentorship and supervision to Social Work staff, upholding professional standards and current best practices
• Implement patient-centered social work interventions designed to reduce the impact of chronic and acute health conditions, promoting overall well-being and recovery.
• Maintain a caseload and when necessary, liaise with other service providers within and outside the region, regarding ongoing client care and identified service gaps.
• Assess the need for, plan, provide and evaluate Social Work services for individual clients and groups
• Rotation across all clinical caseloads of the Social Work service may be required
• Participation in a weekend on call roster is required

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
• Eligible for membership OR a full member with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) - Overseas qualified Social Work candidates require a “certification of eligibility” letter from the AASW to confirm their eligibility for membership to the AASW
• Tasmanian Working with Children Check must be obtained prior to commencement
