ACM is excited to partner with a dynamic local government division near the base of the stunning Blue Mountains to find their next Economic Attraction Lead. This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the region’s economy by shaping and delivering initiatives that create jobs, attract investment, and build a vibrant, thriving community.

Your Role

As the Economic Attraction Lead, you will contribute to the implementation of the Economic Development Strategy 2023-2031, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to:

• Develop and deliver innovative projects that strengthen the local economy and align with Council’s strategic goals.
• Attract investment into the region while creating pathways for sustainable job growth.
• Provide strategic economic advice to influence decision-making and maximise regional opportunities.
• Research and analyse economic data to inform planning and communicate insights effectively to a variety of audiences.
• Foster collaboration with community leaders, businesses, and government agencies to drive outcomes.

What You’ll Bring

To excel in this role, you’ll need:

• Essential Skills and Experience:

  • A tertiary qualification in Economic Development or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in economic, urban, or regional development.
  • Strategic, analytical, and organisational expertise with a track record of delivering complex projects.
  • Strong data interpretation skills and experience tailoring insights for diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and public speaking skills.
  • A valid Class C Driver Licence.

• Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in local government, the public sector, or a large organisation.
