Social Worker

• Location of work: Canberra, ACT
• Working arrangements: Permanent, Full-Time. On-site, occasional weekend and after-hours work may be required
• Security clearance: National Police Check and Working with Vulnerable People registration required

Role Overview: The role involves providing multidisciplinary care as part of a hospital and community-based team, delivering psychosocial interventions to patients across various clinical areas. The Social Worker will collaborate with medical professionals, offer therapeutic services to patients and families, and contribute to clinical governance and quality improvement activities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform clinical assessments and psychosocial interventions.
• Manage cases, liaising with patients, carers, and service providers.
• Contribute to supervision, education, and mentorship of junior staff.
• Participate in quality improvement, research, and team meetings.
• Practice in line with professional standards and health service requirements.

Desirable Skills:

• Strong organisational and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to different client needs and health settings.
• Experience in clinical supervision and mentoring.

Essential criteria:

• Relevant Social Work degree and minimum 3 years' experience.
• Eligibility for AASW registration.
• Knowledge of clinical practices in hospital and health settings.
• Experience with quality improvement activities.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
