ACM Healthcare is on the lookout for a compassionate and dedicated Psychotherapist to join our client’s Residential Rehabilitation team in Helensvale. The Psychotherapist is responsible for providing comprehensive therapeutic care to clients within the program. Reporting to the Therapeutic Experience Lead this role involves collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualised rehabilitation plans, addressing the emotional, behavioural, and cognitive needs of clients. The successful candidate will possess strong clinical skills, empathy, and a commitment to client well-being.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct thorough assessments to identify clients' emotional, behavioural, and cognitive needs.
• Provide individual, group, and family therapy to address psychological concerns.
• Develop and implement treatment plans based on assessment findings and client goals.
• Utilise a trauma-informed approach in applying evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
• Offer crisis intervention and support for clients experiencing acute psychological distress.
• Teach clients effective coping strategies for managing stress, pain, and other condition-related challenges.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
• Coordinate care with external mental health providers and community resources.
• Educate and consult with staff on mental health issues and treatment options.
• Manage a caseload of clients, prioritising needs and coordinating care.

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Psychotherapy, Nursing or Mental health social work
• Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) registered

• A valid Australian Drivers License
• Strong experience providing psychotherapy preferably within a residential rehabilitation setting
