Locum VMO Psychiatrist 

• Location of work: Canberra, ACT
• Working arrangements: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day excluding public holidays
• Salary Rates: $375 per hour, which equates to $3,000 per day
• Accommodation: Maximum $200.00 per day
• Car Hire: Small car only (if applicable)
• Flights: Economy travel only (if applicable)

Role Overview:
This locum position involves providing psychiatric care within Adult Inpatient Mental Health Services. The role requires delivering high-quality mental health services, diagnosing and treating a range of psychiatric conditions, and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to optimise patient outcomes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychiatric assessments and provide treatment plans for patients.
• Manage acute and chronic psychiatric conditions.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Participate in case conferences, clinical meetings, and training sessions as required.

Desirable Skills:

• Expertise in managing a wide range of psychiatric disorders.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Accredited RANZCP supervisor status preferred.
• Previous experience working in a locum capacity.
• Experience in a hospital or community mental health setting.

Essential criteria:

• Full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) or equivalent.
• Significant experience in psychiatric practice.
