The Speech Pathologist will provide comprehensive assessment and treatment services for a variety of disorders related to speech, language, swallowing and communication. The successful candidate will be working within an allied health clinic offering a supportive and flexible work environment with an emphasis on peer-teaching, evidence-based practice, and a functional and comprehensive approach to our clients.
You will be serving a variety of clients, including those with NDIS funding and those who access Medicare, insurance, and private payment. If you are looking for a position to work with pediatric clients or a combination of pediatric clients, teenagers, young adults, and adults, then this role is perfect for you.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ communication and swallowing abilities
• Develop individualised treatment plans to address speech, language, swallowing and communication impairments
• Deliver quality intervention services to meet the specific needs of each client
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive and holistic approach to treatment
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
• Provide education and support to families and caregivers
• Maintain accurate records of patient assessments and interventions
• Participate in professional development activities to stay current with best practices
Qualifications and experience:
• Valid Australian working rights
• Current SPA registration
• Proficient skills in complex assessment and report writing
• Experience working within the NDIS system, desired
• MUST have a working with children check and NDIS worker screening check
• Have a valid Australian Drivers Licence and car owner.
